About the Project

EduPeace is an international Erasmus+ cooperation project designed to support schools in creating safe, inclusive, and peaceful learning environments. The project brings together educators, researchers, and youth specialists from several European countries to jointly address the growing challenges related to school conflicts, discrimination, exclusion, and mental well-being of students.

In recent years, schools across Europe have increasingly faced complex social challenges. Teachers and school staff often need to deal not only with educational responsibilities but also with conflict resolution, emotional difficulties among students, social exclusion, and tensions arising from cultural, social, or identity differences. However, many schools still lack practical tools, structured methodologies, and accessible training that would help them respond effectively to these issues.

EduPeace responds to this need by developing evidence-based educational resources and practical frameworks that empower school communities to promote peaceful communication, mutual respect, and inclusive learning environments.

The project focuses on equipping teachers, school leaders, and youth workers with concrete strategies and tools that support constructive dialogue, empathy, and trust-building among students.

Project Objectives

The main goal of EduPeace is to strengthen the capacity of schools to prevent conflict, foster inclusion, and support the well-being of students through innovative educational approaches.

The project pursues the following specific objectives:

  • Identify key barriers to peaceful and inclusive communication in schools, particularly those affecting vulnerable and marginalized student groups.

  • Develop practical educational tools and guidelines that help teachers address sensitive topics such as discrimination, bullying, social exclusion, and identity-related tensions.

  • Support educators in building trust-based relationships with students, especially in culturally diverse and socially complex learning environments.

  • Promote inclusive educational practices that recognize and respect diversity.

  • Strengthen cooperation between European educational institutions, enabling exchange of experiences, research findings, and effective methodologies.

Project Activities

The EduPeace project is implemented through a series of coordinated activities carried out collaboratively by all partner organizations.

Research and Needs Analysis

The project begins with a comprehensive research phase, which includes surveys, interviews, and consultations with teachers, students, and school stakeholders across partner countries. This research aims to identify:

  • the most common sources of conflict in school environments,

  • barriers that prevent effective communication between educators and students,

  • gaps in current educational practices related to inclusion and conflict prevention.

The results of this research will be compiled into a comparative international research report, providing valuable insight into the challenges faced by European schools.

Development of Educational Framework and Guidelines

Based on the research findings, the partnership will develop a Peaceful and Inclusive Schools Framework, which will provide schools with structured guidance on how to implement strategies that promote respectful communication and inclusive practices.

In addition, the project will produce practical guidelines for educators, including:

  • tools for facilitating difficult conversations in the classroom,

  • strategies for addressing discrimination and exclusion,

  • methods for building trust and psychological safety among students,

  • approaches for supporting students from diverse cultural and social backgrounds.

These materials will be designed to be practical, accessible, and easy to implement in everyday school practice.

Pilot Testing in Schools

The developed materials will be tested in partner schools across participating countries. Teachers and educators will apply the tools in real classroom environments, providing feedback on their effectiveness and usability.

This pilot phase will allow the project team to:

  • evaluate the practical impact of the developed resources,

  • refine the materials based on real-world experience,

  • ensure that the final outputs respond to the actual needs of educators and students.

The results of the pilot implementation will be documented in a pilot evaluation report.

Dissemination and Knowledge Sharing

An important element of the project is the wide dissemination of results. Each partner organization will organize national and international activities aimed at sharing project outcomes with educators, policymakers, and educational institutions.

These activities may include:

  • multiplier events and conferences,

  • workshops and training sessions for teachers,

  • online publications and educational resources,

  • presentations at educational and academic events.

All project results will be made freely accessible, ensuring that schools and educators across Europe can benefit from the developed tools and methodologies.

Expected Results

The EduPeace project will produce several key outputs that will support schools in creating more inclusive and peaceful learning environments:

  • an international research report on communication barriers and conflict dynamics in schools,

  • a Peaceful and Inclusive Schools Framework,

  • practical guidelines and tools for educators,

  • a pilot implementation report based on real classroom testing,

  • translated resources available in partner languages,

  • dissemination materials promoting the project outcomes across Europe.

Long-Term Impact

By providing schools with practical tools and evidence-based guidance, EduPeace aims to contribute to a lasting improvement in the quality of communication and relationships within school communities.

In the long term, the project seeks to:

  • support educators in managing complex social situations in schools,

  • reduce conflicts and discrimination in educational settings,

  • strengthen students’ sense of belonging and psychological safety,

  • encourage a culture of dialogue, empathy, and respect within European schools.

Through international cooperation and knowledge exchange, EduPeace contributes to building more inclusive, resilient, and peaceful educational environments across Europe.

Partnership

The project is implemented by a consortium of seven organizations from different European countries, bringing together expertise in education, youth work, research, and teacher training.

The diversity of the partnership ensures a multidisciplinary approach, combining academic knowledge, practical educational experience, and innovative methodologies.
