“Gender Equality Through Outdoor Education"
Erasmus+ Youth Exchange for youths organized in Georgia by “Schoolclash EV”(Germany) and “Youth For the World” (Georgia) in partnership with Fundacja "Zielony Słoń" (Poland).
Summary of the project
Due to the Gender equality is still a burning issue in European countries, Schoolclash eV” (Germany) together with "Youth For the World”-YFW (Georgia) initiates a project "Outdoor Society for Gender Equality", which is based on gender equality, discrimination & social inclusion thought outdoor education. In many countries the discrimination of women is not even considered a topic of relevance, but hidden behind cultural patterns. Forms of gender discrimination are diverse and differ in their severity. With this youth exchange we would like to engage into a dialogue with young people about gender equality & gender roles in their social environment. We would like to challenge our young people with different perceptions of the role of man & woman in modern Europe & in its past. We see outdoor education as a extremely powerful tools for development, especially within international communities, it reflects on different values & can create a bridge between different social groups forming better mutual understanding.
Most of methods will be done in outdoors & we will do few hiking as a big individual & group challenge, instincts of self-preservation disappears therefore it becomes easier to analyze sensitive topics. We will do directly relate it with current situation whereas a lot of women and men refugees had to walk over mountains, cross the sea & borders to reach peace in Europe. We will do similar thing in order to step in their shoes for a while. We believe that this correlation will help us to reach even better results and will help to start thinking about the current situation.
